Program Director of Bioinformatics
Biography
Randy Johnson is the Program Director for Bioinformatics at Hood College where he teaches applied bioinformatics, data science, and leadership principles associated with managing interdisciplinary research teams. Prior to joining Hood College, he worked as a contractor at the National Institutes of Health. He has extensive experience working with complex biomedical data both from an analysis perspective and from a data visualization perspective. He is an expert R programmer and has written and maintains several R packages and Shiny apps. He is also a certified Carpentries instructor, Project Management Professional and has coauthored over 40 scientific publications and software packages.
